Article Critique

The following documents pertain to the analysis of De Jong and Perfetti (2011)’s article “Fluency Training in the ESL Classroom: An Experimental Study of Fluency Development and Proceduralization.” The critique itself summarizes the purposes and methods in the original study, as well as analyzes the effectiveness of the researchers’ methodology and explores the implications of their investigation for EFL/ESL teaching. This article critique was written following the presentation of the materials listed below. Both myself and a colleague presented our critique of the article before the Theories of Foreign/Second Language Learning class taught by Dr. Tatiana Nekrasova-Beker in the Spring of 2021.
